Kibo, Technology Transfer 10th Anniversary Festa Held

Private Opening of Technology Transaction Infrastructure
Fostering a Self-Sustaining Technology Transaction Market

The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as ‘Kibo’) announced on the 5th that it held the '10th Anniversary Festa of Technology Transactions with Small and Medium Venture Businesses' at the Glad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul. This event was promoted to announce the achievements of the technology transaction business carried out by Kibo over the past 10 years and to declare a future vision, and a technology transfer briefing session on new growth 4.0 strategic technologies such as future mobility was held together.


On this day, Kibo presented 'Fostering a self-sustaining technology transaction market pushed by Kibo and led by the private sector' as its future vision, and decided to nurture a private-sector-centered self-sustaining technology transaction market by strengthening public-private cooperation projects such as ▲ joint brokerage projects for technology transfer with private technology transaction institutions ▲ creation of private business through support projects by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

Since opening the Technology Innovation Center, a dedicated organization for technology transactions, in January 2014, Kibo has carried out various support projects such as technology brokerage, technology transfer guarantees, and technology development projects linked to technology transfer to help small and medium venture businesses succeed in open innovation through technology transactions over the past 10 years. Open innovation refers to technological innovation through the introduction of external technology. Small and medium enterprises can reduce the time and cost required for research and development and diversify their business areas by promoting open innovation through technology transactions.


Kim Jong-ho, Chairman of Kibo, said, "We will not only utilize the technology transaction infrastructure built over the past 10 years as internal resources but also open it to the private sector from January next year to strengthen cooperation with the private sector," adding, "In addition, we will faithfully perform our role as a comprehensive technology innovation support institution so that small and medium venture businesses can open a new chapter of technological innovation through technology transactions."
