Nam Jin-bok, a member of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council, explained, "There is a need to establish a Gyeongbuk-do disaster response system that can provide information necessary for rapid situation assessment and response in case of fire, disaster, and other emergency situations," adding, "The ordinance was proposed to establish administrative and financial grounds for the construction, efficient operation, and management of the disaster response system, securing data stability, and cooperation with related organizations."
The "Gyeongsangbuk-do Disaster Response System" refers to a system that provides various information about the disaster site, such as building information, traffic, and geographic information, in real-time to the fire brigade dispatched to the disaster site.
The main contents of the ordinance regulate matters related to the construction and maintenance of the disaster response system, the operation and management plan of the disaster response system, the authority manager who determines the scope of viewing and processing of the disaster response system, the provision request of data and information to related departments, and matters concerning personal information protection and information and communication security management.
Assemblyman Nam said, "Through the enactment of the ordinance, it will be possible to provide various information for the fire brigade's rapid situation assessment and response in case of emergencies such as disasters," adding, "In particular, it will contribute to protecting the lives and property of residents by forming cooperative relationships among disaster-related entities and promoting systematic management of the system."
This ordinance is scheduled for review at the plenary session of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council on the 11th, and as the first ordinance to be enacted nationwide, it is expected to dramatically improve Gyeongbuk-do's disaster response capabilities.
