'Personal Cup' Use Event Until 24th
Additional 300 Points Through Ministry of Environment
Starbucks Eco Stores Expanded to 36 Locations

This month, customers can receive a discount of up to 700 KRW when they bring their own cup (tumbler) to Starbucks Eco Stores.

On the 4th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will hold the "Challenge! Use Your Own Cup for 21 Days" event at 36 Starbucks Eco Stores. From that day until the 24th, for 21 days, customers who purchase beverages using their own cup or reusable cup at Starbucks Eco Stores in the city will receive an immediate discount of 300 KRW. Additionally, combining this with Starbucks' ongoing 400 KRW discount for using personal cups, customers can buy beverages at a total discount of 700 KRW.

The event will continue until 100,000 cups have been discounted and will end early if all discounts are used up.

Citizens who have joined the Ministry of Environment's Carbon Neutral Points (Green Life Practice) program can earn an additional 300 points by using their own cup or a reusable cup and returning it through the Starbucks mobile application (app). Accumulated points are automatically transferred to the bank account registered at the time of membership registration at the end of each month.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government designated the Gwanghwamun area as the first "Personal Cup and Reusable Cup Promotion Zone (Eco Zone)" and recruited partners (cafes, companies, multi-use facilities) to participate in the project. Starbucks was the first to join the partners and increased the number of Eco Stores from 13 to 36.

Jung Mi-seon, Director of the Resource Circulation Division of Seoul City, stated, "Through collaboration with companies participating in the partners, we can provide eco-friendly activity benefits to more citizens," and added, "We will continue to expand the range of benefits to encourage more citizens to participate in eco-friendly activities."
