The 16th Jinhae Marathon Held at Jinhae Public Stadium and Naval Base Area

Hong Nampyo, Changwon Special Mayor, "Make Beautiful Memories While Running Inside the Navy Base"

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam hosted the "16th Jinhae Marathon Running with the Navy" at Jinhae Public Stadium and the Navy base area.

The event held on the 2nd started from Jinhae Public Stadium and proceeded along a 5 km course passing through ▶Stadium Intersection ▶JK Convention Entrance ▶Docheon Elementary School ▶Navy Main Gate 1 ▶Jeongtongdan Entrance (turnaround point) ▶Navy Main Gate 1 ▶JK Convention Entrance ▶returning to Jinhae Public Stadium.

At the 16th Jinhae Marathon, Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, is conducting the draw.

This unique marathon, the only one nationwide where civilians, government, and military run together inside the Navy base, does not charge an entry fee and does not award rankings, focusing instead on completion, allowing anyone to participate with ease. It has become a beloved annual event and a premier occasion in the region.

Despite the full onset of winter weather, nearly 2,000 people gathered at the assembly point, Jinhae Public Stadium. The organizing committee of the Jinhae Marathon provided a variety of attractions including a performance by the Navy Honor Guard and other celebratory shows, while paying close attention to safety and adherence to race rules to prevent accidents.

In his congratulatory speech, Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, “I hope this becomes a precious time for participants to find health and create beautiful memories while running through the scenic Navy base,” and urged, “I ask everyone attending in this cold weather to complete the race safely without injury.”
