On the 8th, Song Young-gil, former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who is scheduled to be summoned for investigation by the prosecution as a suspect, expressed confidence, saying, "If the prosecution requests an arrest warrant, I am confident it will be dismissed."

On the morning of the 2nd, at the book concert "Song Young-gil's Declaration of War" held at Inter-Burgo Hotel in Manchon-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu, former leader Song stated, "I am finally going to appear before the prosecution. There will be no dismissal of charges, and they will try to bind me with something and arrest me."

He said, "I did not deliberately leave the party to create a satellite party," but added, "If we create the 'Yoon Seok-yeol Resignation Party,' which meets the requirement of 20 or more seats to form a parliamentary negotiation group, it will lead the Democratic Party, including impeachment motions, creating a synergy effect among us."

He continued, "I met with Lee Jun-seok and Lee Eon-ju, and they also said they can no longer be with Yoon Seok-yeol," adding, "If they form a new party and fight, we will unite and fight with full force starting from the passage of the Kim Geon-hee special prosecutor."

Regarding Han Dong-hoon, Minister of Justice, with whom he has recently been at odds, he emphasized, "He talks a lot about politics, but the moment Minister Han expresses his stance on the Kim Geon-hee special prosecutor, his true nature will be revealed."

Former leader Song has been pointed out as the pinnacle of the 2021 Democratic Party of Korea party convention money envelope distribution suspicion. At that time, before the primary election, 94 million won was provided from Song's campaign to incumbent lawmakers, regional situation room chiefs, and regional headquarters chiefs, and he is suspected of violating the Political Parties Act by being involved in this.

The prosecution launched a full-scale investigation in April by conducting searches and seizures on suspects related to the money envelope distribution, including lawmakers Yoon Kwan-seok and Lee Sung-man, and former Democratic Party Deputy Secretary-General Lee Jung-geun. Starting with the indictment and detention of former Korea Water Resources Corporation auditor Kang Rae-gu, key suspects such as former aide Park Yong-soo and lawmaker Yoon have already been brought to trial.

Former leader Song visited the prosecution twice in May and June to request summons for investigation but was refused and had to turn back.

As the prosecution expands the scope of investigation on allegations of illegal political funds and bribes through external organizations, former leader Song appeals his innocence, claiming the prosecution is conducting an excessive investigation.

He completely denies the charges against him and regarding the money envelope suspicion, he claimed, "During the primary, it was difficult for the candidate to manage the campaign affairs in detail, so I could not have known about the incident."
