"Dramatic changes at the level of Santa Fe will take place"
Renderings of Hyundai Motor Company's flagship SUV, the 'Palisade Full Change' model, expected to be unveiled in January 2025, have emerged.
Overseas automotive media outlet CARBUZZ published renderings of the next-generation Palisade based on an interview with Olabisi Boyle, Vice President of Product Planning at Hyundai Motor Company.
The Palisade is a mid-to-large SUV launched by Hyundai in December 2018, gaining great popularity not only in the domestic market but also in the North American market. According to the renderings, the Palisade Full Change features a boxy style similar to the new Santa Fe, with bold and more futuristic design elements. Vice President Olabisi Boyle stated that the North American consumers desire a slightly more muscular stance and boxy body design, which will be applied.
Based on Vice President Boyle's comments, the media presented several speculative renderings.
While maintaining Land Rover's theme, the next-generation Palisade is expected to look like a Range Rover or challenge the Ford Explorer ST with a sportier Palisade N Line. Attention was also drawn to powertrain changes. Although detailed information was not disclosed, it was hinted that hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and efficient internal combustion engines could be equipped.
Although the rear view was not shown, it is presumed that bold and large design elements consistent with the front will be applied. The interior is also expected to reflect the latest designs seen in the recently launched new Santa Fe full change and the Tucson facelift scheduled for release next year.
Meanwhile, plans for Hyundai and Kia's 2.5 turbo hybrid system development were also confirmed. This 2.5-liter gasoline turbo-based hybrid system is expected to be first installed in the 2025 Palisade full change model.
Additionally, Hyundai is currently finalizing the exterior design of the next-generation Palisade within its R&D center and testing the drivetrain. The new Palisade is targeted for mass production in January 2025.
