50,022 Units Domestic · 209,637 Units Overseas
Kia announced on the 1st that it sold a total of 260,227 vehicles globally last month, including 50,022 units domestically, 209,637 units overseas, and 568 special vehicles. This represents a 1.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Domestic sales decreased by 3.6%, while overseas sales increased by 3%. By model, the Sportage was the best-selling with 47,200 units. The Seltos followed with 33,883 units, and the Sorento with 21,923 units.
The best-selling vehicle domestically was the Sorento with 9,364 units. Passenger cars sold a total of 14,944 units, including the Ray with 4,587 units, K5 with 3,783 units, K8 with 2,799 units, and Morning with 2,111 units. Recreational vehicles (RVs) sold a total of 29,094 units, including the Sorento, Sportage with 5,982 units, Carnival with 5,857 units, Seltos with 4,446 units, and Niro with 1,661 units. In the commercial sector, a total of 5,984 units were sold, including 5,855 units of the Bongo III and buses.
Regarding overseas sales by model, the Sportage led with 41,218 units sold, becoming the top-selling model overseas. The Seltos followed with 29,437 units, and the K3 (Forte) with 19,436 units. Special vehicles sold a total of 568 units, with 300 units domestically and 268 units overseas.
A Kia representative stated, “We will continue the sales momentum through sales of the K5 and Carnival as well as active EV marketing.”
