The ‘Couples Meditation Camp’ program has been regularly held once or twice a month since March at the Gwangyang Steelworks and Pohang Steelworks. The 8th session, held on the 29th, marked the conclusion of this year’s ‘Couples Meditation Camp’ series.

This recent program was conducted as a retreat at POSCO’s in-house recreational facility, the Goheung Training Center.

The Goheung Training Center is located on Oenaro Island in Goheung County, offering a panoramic view of the South Sea. It is a quiet environment with few people, making it a representative recreational facility of the POSCO Group where participants can relax in nature.

Through the 2-day, 1-night ‘Couples Meditation Camp’ held here, it is expected that employees’ psychological stability will be enhanced and that work engagement will improve after the program’s completion.

On the first day of the ‘Couples Meditation Camp,’ participants engaged in mindfulness meditation, walking meditation, and yoga to promote psychological stability. They also attended a special lecture on communication methods to enhance marital happiness and spent time deeply connecting through creating pop art wedding photos.

On the second day, the program concluded with meditation focused on breath control and the establishment of a plan to practice meditation in daily life.

It is reported that both employees and their spouses who participated in the camp expressed high satisfaction.

One employee who attended the ‘Couples Meditation Camp’ said, “I had not sufficiently expressed my gratitude to my spouse before, but this opportunity allowed me to sincerely convey my thanks. I am grateful to the company for providing such a great chance to strengthen our marital relationship.”

Another participant’s spouse shared, “This program not only soothed my spouse’s body and mind, exhausted from busy work, but also provided me with psychological healing. I hope that programs like this will continue to expand so that not only we but many other employees’ families can participate.”

Meanwhile, the Gwangyang Steelworks is conducting various programs to care for employees’ mental health and improve their happiness. On the 20th of last month, a special lecture on mental health management was held for all positions. The in-house psychological counseling center, ‘Mindfulness Center休,’ operates with multiple psychological counselors who closely manage employees’ mental health. Additionally, various programs such as ▲ one-on-one professional psychological counseling ▲ group counseling ▲ various psychological tests and mental health education and lectures are also being offered.
