Goryeong-gun Receives 'Best Award' in This Year's Gyeongbuk Province Total Water Pollution Load Management Evaluation

Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, was selected as an excellent institution in the 'Gyeongbuk Province Total Water Pollution Load Management Performance Evaluation' hosted by Gyeongbuk Province on November 30.

Goryeong-gun, awarded the Grand Prize for the 'Gyeongbuk Province Total Water Pollution Load Management Performance Evaluation'.

The Total Water Pollution Load Management System, which began its first phase in 2006 and is currently in the fourth phase, is a system that sets and manages target water quality for each unit watershed. If the pollution load is exceeded, restrictions are imposed on various development projects such as industrial complex construction, road building, and tourist complex development. It is a core task that must be completed before promoting policy projects.

The main evaluation items this time included compliance with target water quality by unit watershed, compliance with allocated pollution load by facilities, implementation evaluation, system improvement plans and suggestions, and the appropriateness and clarity of the presentation content. Our county received high scores in all evaluation items and was awarded the grand prize.

County Governor Lee Nam-cheol emphasized, "We will further contemplate and research environmental conservation and development projects from the same perspective to ensure that local pending projects proceed smoothly, and respond to the Total Water Pollution Load Management System systematically and strategically."
