Seodaemun-gu Creates 'Pet Dog Walking Path' in 2km Section of Yeonhui-dong

Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 1st that it has recently created a walking trail in the area of San 2-14, Yeonhui-dong, where pet dogs and their owners can walk and enjoy together, in response to the era of 15 million pet dog owners.

The trail is circular, allowing walkers to return to their starting point, with a length of 2 km and a width of 1.5 m, featuring three resting areas. Visitors can enjoy nature while walking on dirt paths in the forest. The resting areas are equipped with drinking fountains and waste bag dispensers for pet dogs, and spaces are separated for large dogs and small to medium-sized dogs.

Near the Ansan Jarak-gil trail by Seodaemun Independence Park (around Yeongcheon-dong 5-644), a playground for pet dogs has been created. Drinking fountains and play facilities have been installed, and spaces are also separated for large dogs and small to medium-sized dogs. To promote this project, Seodaemun-gu visited World Cup Park in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and Gangaji Forest in Chuncheon.

Lee Seongheon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, “I hope many people will walk and rest with their pet dogs on this trail to improve their health and happiness,” adding, “Next year, we plan to extend this walking trail to include a pet dog playground.”
