Encouraging Volunteers Who Warm Shinan
Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) held the ‘2023 Shinan-gun Volunteer Conference’ on the 29th of last month at the Ja-eun Ramada Sea One Resort.
According to the county on the 1st, the event was hosted by the Shinan-gun Women Volunteers Association (President Kim Jeong-sun) and attended by about 300 people including Governor Park Woo-ryang, Mrs. Jeong Ok-geum, spouse of National Assembly member Seo Sam-seok, Kim Hyuk-seong, chairman of the Shinan-gun Council, provincial and county council members, and volunteers from various sectors. The program included awards for volunteer merit, viewing of annual activity videos, and congratulatory performances.

Additionally, a piano photo zone fitting for Ja-eun Island, known as the “Piano Island,” was set up along with a photo zone themed “Abundant Shinan,” decorated with Shinan’s local specialties. Various side events were also prepared, including an exhibition of 2023 volunteer activity photos.
In particular, members of the Women Volunteers Association of Sinui-myeon (President Park Jeong-ae) held a donation event, presenting 3 million won collected through small contributions to the Shinan-gun Scholarship Foundation to support underprivileged students, adding a meaningful act of sharing.
President Kim Jeong-sun said, “Thanks to the passion and dedication of all members actively participating in volunteer activities this year, we were able to take good care of neighbors in need and successfully conclude various events held in Shinan. This volunteer conference honors the volunteers who have worked and dedicated themselves to marginalized groups and the local community.”
Governor Park Woo-ryang stated, “Thanks to the sweat and sincerity of the volunteers, we can create a happy and hopeful Shinan, and I am grateful to all volunteers. Shinan-gun will continue to actively support volunteers so that they can faithfully fulfill their original functions and roles.”
