The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency (Chief Kim Jin-wook) will appoint one new prosecutor.

On the 1st, the agency announced that lawyer Shim Tae-min (45, 4th Bar Exam) from Inwol Law Firm will be newly appointed as a prosecutor effective the 4th.

Born in Seoul, Shim graduated from Gaepo High School in Seoul and the Department of Russian Language and Literature at Seoul National University. After graduating from Ajou University School of Law in 2015, he passed the 4th Bar Exam.

The agency stated that Shim has been recognized for his expertise in criminal law through his work at Daeryuk Aju Law Firm (LLC) and Inwol Law Firm, handling numerous anti-corruption and corporate crime cases.

The agency, which announced the prosecutor recruitment in early August, conducted a first-round document screening and a second-round interview. On October 20, it held a personnel committee meeting to comprehensively review candidates' political neutrality, investigative capabilities, and other qualifications required for prosecutors, recommended a candidate, and recently completed the presidential approval process.

Meanwhile, with Prosecutor Kim Sook-jung (1st Bar Exam), who recently expressed her intention to resign, being dismissed effective the 4th, the agency will have a total of 24 prosecutors, including the chief, deputy chief, six senior prosecutors, and 16 junior prosecutors.
