On the 1st, BBQ announced that on the 29th of last month, they visited ‘Banryeomaru,’ a pet culture space located in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, to conduct volunteer activities caring for abandoned dogs.
BBQ conducted this volunteer activity to raise public awareness about abandoned dogs and respect for life. About 15 BBQ employees participated in the event, performing tasks such as cleaning and maintaining kennels, bathing abandoned dogs, and taking them for walks to ensure the animals could live in a comfortable and hygienic environment.
Banryeomaru is the largest pet complex cultural space in the country and opened last month. It currently shelters around 600 dogs, including approximately 580 dogs rescued in September from a breeding facility in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, and is in need of assistance due to a shortage of manpower.
An employee who participated in the volunteer work said, “Through this volunteer activity, I have developed more interest in abandoned animals, and I hope it helps improve the awareness of people who secretly abandon animals or are indifferent to abandoned animals, even if just a little. I also hope that the abandoned animals protected at the center will soon meet new families and spend a warm winter.”
Meanwhile, in addition to donation activities such as Chicken Camp at Chicken University, Kind Donations, Chicken Relay Visits, and Chicken Relay with Family, BBQ has been supporting Africa through I Love Africa by providing wells and emergency relief food to water-scarce areas via family matching funds. Earlier this year, in February, they supported emergency relief for the T?rkiye-Syria earthquake, and in August, they donated funds to help children affected by the war in Ukraine.
