Applications open from December 4, recruiting 2,905 people, a 22% increase from last year
Applications accepted by institution for four types: public service activities, social services, market, and employment referral
Eight implementing agencies to carry out projects such as environmental guardians, park management, and welfare helpers
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is recruiting participants for the 2024 Senior Job Program. The aim is to support various jobs and social activities so that seniors can enjoy a healthy and vibrant old age.
The number of recruits has increased by about 22% compared to last year's 2,389 to 2,905. Considering income level, experience, and activity capacity, the program is divided into four types: ▲ 2,010 public service activity positions for basic pension recipients aged 65 and over ▲ 538 social service positions for those aged 65 and over ▲ 217 market-type positions for those aged 60 and over ▲ 140 employment placement positions for those aged 60 and over.
The senior job program is conducted by eight organizations including the district office, Gwangjin Senior Welfare Center, Gwangjin Branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association, Korean Retirees Association, Seoul Branch of the Korea Safety Education Association, Gwangjin Senior Club, Social Cooperative Dounuri, and Hope Welfare Volunteer Group.
The main projects include a total of 45 activities such as environment guardians, park management, welfare helpers, subway delivery, and exam proctor dispatch.
Seniors wishing to participate can submit an application form and a resident registration copy at the local community center or the executing organization from February 4 to 22. ▲Recipients of livelihood benefits among National Basic Livelihood Security recipients ▲Participants in government and local government job programs ▲National Health Insurance workplace subscribers ▲Long-term care insurance recipients are not eligible to participate. Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We hope for much interest and participation in the senior job program,” adding, “We will continue to develop various job projects that utilize the experience and knowledge of seniors to support their income generation and ongoing social activities.”
Meanwhile, the final selection will be individually notified by the executing organizations at the end of January, and selected seniors will participate in the program starting February 1.
