Comprehensive entertainment company KeyEast announced on the 30th that it has appointed Vice President Jo Ji-hoon as the new CEO.
CEO Jo graduated from Korea University Law School and its graduate school, attended Fordham University Law School in the United States, and after joining KBS, he worked for 19 years in various fields including content production, marketing, and IP (intellectual property) business.
Since 2022, he was recruited by SM Entertainment Group and served as the CSO (Chief Strategy Officer) of SM Studios. He was responsible for IP production and distribution strategies of content affiliates, and from September this year, he took the position of Vice President at KeyEast.
CEO Jo stated, "I feel a heavy responsibility in taking on the CEO position amid intensified global OTT (over-the-top) competition and challenging content production and management business environments," adding, "Based on 20 years of accumulated experience, I will open a renaissance for KeyEast by recruiting outstanding talent and strengthening IP competitiveness."
He continued, "We plan to transform into a hub platform company capable of global IP distribution through various strategic partnerships with domestic and overseas investors and other production companies," and added, "We will not neglect system improvements such as talent recruitment, organizational restructuring, and production cost management process enhancement."
Meanwhile, KeyEast is preparing to air and produce numerous dramas including 'No Secrets' and 'I Openly Dream of Cinderella.' In particular, 'Ask the Stars,' written by the master of romantic comedy writer Seo Sook-hyang and starring Lee Min-ho and Gong Hyo-jin, is a highly anticipated work for 2024 and is currently in post-production.
