A man in his 60s who stalked 14-year-old trot singer Oh Yujin and her family has been brought to trial.

On the 30th, the Criminal Division 2 of Jinju Branch of Changwon District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Kwak Geum-hee) announced that 60-year-old Mr. A was indicted without detention on charges of violating the Stalking Punishment Act and other offenses.

Mr. A is accused of claiming to be Oh Yujin's father from May this year until recently, visiting the school Oh Yujin attends to cause fear, and repeatedly calling her maternal grandmother.

It was also confirmed that he posted nearly 1,000 comments online on social networking services (SNS) and YouTube, such as asking "Where are the biological parents?"

Earlier in August, Oh Yujin filed a complaint against Mr. A for violating the Stalking Crime Punishment Act and defamation by false facts.

In the SBS program "Curious Story Y" aired on the 10th, Mr. A claimed, "The bone structure itself resembles from head to toe. The shape of the hands and teeth are exactly the same when you look at the photos," asserting that he is the biological father.

He claimed that he had a relationship with a woman long ago, that she became pregnant, and that the child born was Oh Yujin.

According to Oh Yujin's agency Totalset, due to Mr. A's stalking, Oh Yujin shows extreme caution even when seeing adult men and cannot hide her anxiety at events, suffering severe stress.

The prosecution judged there was a risk of reoffense and, after receiving the case from the police, issued a provisional measure to prevent Mr. A from approaching the victim.

A prosecution official said, "We will maintain the prosecution thoroughly so that Mr. A receives punishment commensurate with his crimes and will continue to respond strictly to stalking crimes."

Stalking and excessive obsessive fan behavior targeting teenage celebrities are becoming problematic.

Seventeen-year-old trot singer Jung Dong-won also announced a strong response to obsessive fans who visit his practice room or near his home, invading his privacy.

Jung Dong-won's agency Showplay Entertainment stated on the 27th through the official fan cafe, "We plan to add obsessive fans to a blacklist without prior notice and take strong criminal measures," adding, "We inform you that any acts infringing on the artist's privacy will be dealt with without any tolerance."

Trot singer Kim Da-hyun, born in 2009 and the same age as Oh Yujin, is in a similar situation.

She filed complaints against malicious posters who wrote defamatory, insulting, malicious slander, and false information about her and her father, broadcaster Kim Bong-gon, on broadcasting station viewer boards.

Kim Da-hyun's agency Hyun Company said, "We have endured for a long time, thinking that Kim Da-hyun should accept some things as a celebrity, but the severity and persistence of the posts have increased, causing daily severe mental distress," and emphasized, "We will thoroughly monitor and take strong legal action under a zero-tolerance policy to eradicate such malicious posts."
