Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station Operates '119 Safety Experience Hanmadang' Event

On the afternoon of the 29th, Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station announced on the 30th that it held the '119 Safety Experience Festival' event at Yongdu Jugong Apartment located in Sinyong-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City to prevent winter fires and strengthen fire safety management in multi-family housing.

This event was promoted to enhance winter fire prevention and improve emergency response capabilities by raising fire awareness among residents of multi-family housing, which are at high risk of large fires and multiple casualties, in observance of Fire Prevention Emphasis Month.

Firefighters and volunteer fire brigade members participated targeting Yongdu Jugong Apartment, and the activities included ▲ CPR experience ▲ fire extinguisher experience ▲ promotion of 'Evacuate first when fire breaks out' and 'Do not use elevators during fire' to reduce casualties in case of fire ▲ distribution of multi-family housing evacuation safety manuals and evacuation action guidelines ▲ reminders for safe use of heating appliances during winter and caution against careless fires, along with distribution of heating appliance safety manuals.

A fire official stated, "We will do our best to spread fire safety culture among citizens through customized fire safety education for multi-family housing," and added, "Please pay attention to fire prevention and emergency response knowledge such as safe use of heating appliances in winter and caution against cooking fires."
