Children Filling Warmth by Emptying 'Gosarison Hanpun Dupun' Piggy Banks

Donation by Children of Aejaram Group Home in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju

Children at the child welfare facility ‘Aejaram Group Home’ in Songjeong 1-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, have touched hearts by donating the money they carefully saved in their piggy banks to help neighbors in need.

According to Songjeong 1-dong on the 30th, on the 28th, Ki Un-chan (11) and Mo Woo-bin (10) from Aejaram Group Home visited the Administrative Welfare Center and left their piggy banks, saying, “Please use this to help brothers, sisters, and others who are struggling.”

The piggy banks, filled to the brim and quite heavy, contained 524,250 won. It was money the children saved little by little, resisting the urge to buy snacks.

After filling their piggy banks for a year, the children decided to donate without hesitation.

They said, “While saving our allowance in the piggy banks, we thought about what we would do later and what we could do. We believed that using the money to help others, rather than buying toys or food, was the most valuable and meaningful thing.”

They added, “If even a little of the money we saved can help the brothers, sisters, and others in our village, we would be truly happy. We hope that more people will think of those in need and share their hearts so that everyone can have a warm and happy winter.”

The donation from the children was entrusted to the Together Gwangsan Sharing Culture Foundation as a ‘Scholarship Fund for Village Youth.’ It will be used to support vulnerable young people at the end of the year.
