Yeongdeok-gun Wins Grand Prize at 'Gyeongbuk Province Dementia Overcoming Management Project Performance Competition'

The Dementia Safety Center at Yeongdeok-gun Public Health Center in Gyeongbuk was selected as the Best Institution in the Dementia Safety Center Video Contest at the '2023 Gyeongbuk Province Dementia Overcoming Management Project Performance Competition' held on the 29th at Daegu Inter-Burgo EXCO.

Yeongdeok-gun Wins Grand Prize at 'Gyeongbuk Province Dementia Overcoming Management Project Performance Competition' Employees of the Dementia Management Team in the Health Management Division of Yeongdeok-gun are taking a commemorative photo for the Grand Prize.

This competition was organized as an opportunity for dementia safety centers within Gyeongbuk Province to reflect on the one-year progress of the dementia overcoming management projects they have carried out, share best practices, and explore directions for next year's initiatives.


The Dementia Safety Center at Yeongdeok-gun Public Health Center, which opened in July 2019, previously won the grand prize in 2019 and the excellence award in 2021 at the Dementia Overcoming Management Project Performance Competition. This year, it earned the honor of the Best Award in the field of promotional video production for dementia safety centers, recognizing its outstanding achievements.


Kong Jae-yong, Director of Health Management at Yeongdeok-gun Public Health Center, expressed, “We will continue to strive to ensure that all residents can live healthy and happy lives in this aging era by implementing systematic education and promotion from dementia prevention and early detection, and by supporting various program management.”


This year, the Dementia Safety Center at Yeongdeok-gun Public Health Center operated three facilities including the Dementia Patient Shelter, Our Village Pretty Dementia Shelter, and family classes and self-help groups, as well as dementia-friendly community environment projects such as Dementia Care Villages. It also promoted outreach dementia prevention projects, cognitive enhancement classes, and missing person prevention projects. Through these efforts, it achieved 2,100 early dementia screenings for those aged 60 and over and customized case management for 4,631 individuals.
