Namgoong Hoon, the former CEO who left Kakao last October, is returning as the chairman of the 'Game Talent Foundation,' which he originally founded.
On the 30th, the Future Content Foundation announced that it has changed its name to the 'Game Talent Foundation' and that its founder, Chairman Namgoong Hoon, is returning to lead changes.
With Chairman Namgoong's return, the foundation will expand its talent development, scholarship activities, and efforts to improve the perception of games, focusing on the gaming sector.
The game development competitions held for specialized high school students, as well as sponsorship and scholarship programs for Gyeonggi Game Meister High School, will be expanded to general high schools to strengthen talent cultivation and scholarship programs in gaming.
The foundation will emphasize and support the role of games in the 'Beyond Game' area, where the gaming industry intersects with virtual reality, artificial intelligence (AI), and entertainment, while creating and exploring new opportunities across all fields of digital content.
Chairman Namgoong said, "The Game Talent Foundation I established has now reached its 10th year, and I feel deeply moved to be reappointed as chairman. The foundation will strengthen talent development and scholarship programs, redefine the status of the gaming industry, and actively carry out various projects in areas such as improving perceptions in the content industry and academic projects related to games and content."
