On the 29th, the Ministry of Employment and Labor announced that approximately 2,800 reports were received over four days regarding a practice at a specific company of disadvantaging job seekers from women's universities during hiring, and that an on-site investigation would commence immediately following the anonymous report handling procedures.
Earlier, on the 26th, an anonymous post appeared on the workplace anonymous community Blind stating, "In our department alone, whenever resumes come in, all from women's universities are filtered out," sparking controversy. The anonymous writer, identified as A from a real estate trust company, said, "As a recruitment officer, I don't automatically reject female applicants, but if they graduated from a women's university, I don't even read their cover letters and mark them as disqualified."
The Ministry of Employment and Labor decided to include this real estate trust company and two other companies where similar allegations were raised, totaling three workplaces, in the scope of the investigation.
