On the morning of Thursday the 30th, most regions nationwide are expected to experience subzero temperatures.
As cold air moves southward, morning temperatures will be 1 to 3 degrees lower than the previous day, the 29th (-7 to 4 degrees Celsius), with morning temperatures around -10 degrees Celsius expected in northern and eastern Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous Gangwon, and northern Chungbuk.
The lowest morning temperatures in major areas are forecasted as follows: Seoul -8°C, Incheon -6°C, Suwon -7°C, Chuncheon -9°C, Gangneung -5°C, Cheongju -5°C, Daejeon -8°C, Jeonju -3°C, Gwangju -1°C, Daegu -3°C, Busan -1°C, and Jeju 6°C.
The highest daytime temperatures will be Seoul 0°C, Incheon -1°C, Suwon 1°C, Chuncheon 0°C, Gangneung 4°C, Cheongju 2°C, Daejeon 1°C, Jeonju 2°C, Gwangju 3°C, Daegu 4°C, Busan 7°C, and Jeju 8°C.
Daytime temperatures will also remain around 5 degrees Celsius in most regions nationwide, and strong winds will make the perceived temperature even lower, resulting in very cold conditions.
In Seoul, with a minimum temperature of -8°C and winds blowing at 4 m/s, the wind chill temperature is expected to reach -14°C.
While the country will generally be clear, there will be occasional snow or rain from dawn in Jeju and western Jeolla regions, and from night in the western coast of Chungnam.
Expected snowfall amounts are 1 to 3 cm in the western coast of Chungnam, Gwangju, and western Jeonnam; 1 to 5 cm in western Jeonbuk and mountainous areas of Jeju; and around 1 cm in Ulleungdo, Dokdo, and mid-mountain areas of Jeju.
Expected precipitation amounts are less than 5 mm in the western coast of Chungnam, western Jeonbuk, Gwangju, western Jeonnam, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo; and around 5 mm in Jeju.
Waves in the southern offshore waters of Jeju and eastern offshore waters of the South Sea are expected to gradually rise, with a possibility of a storm warning being issued.
Fine dust levels will be 'Good' nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion.
Sea waves will be 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea nearshore, 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the West Sea nearshore, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the South Sea nearshore. Wave heights in the offshore waters (approximately within 200 km from the coastline) are predicted to be 1.0 to 4.5 meters in the East Sea, 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the South Sea.
