The Korea Arts & Culture Education Service (Chairman Jeong Byeong-guk) announced on the 29th that it will hold the '2023 Arts Tree Sponsorship Night' to promote cultural and artistic sponsorship at the Arko Arts Theater in Dongsung-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on December 5.

Arts Tree is a brand created by the Arts Council Korea in 2012 to expand cultural and artistic sponsorship. The Arts Council Korea is conducting fundraising and the Arts Tree sponsorship campaign to support sponsorship in the cultural and artistic fields. Throughout 2023, a total of 3,562 sponsors and 785 sponsoring companies were attracted to support cultural and artistic events and organizations nationwide.
The '2023 Arts Tree Sponsorship Night' will select and award 5 companies in the corporate sector, 4 individuals in the personal sector, and 2 fundraising organizations. ▲In the conditional donation corporate sector, Woori Bank and Hermes Korea ▲In the conditional donation individual sector, Jeon Byeong-guk ▲In the general donation corporate (organization) sector, Hanmi Pharmaceutical, Hoban Cultural Foundation, and Korea Culture Promotion Operating Committee ▲In the general donation individual sector, Jeong Sang-yoon, Kim Dong-yeop, Park Chang-hwan ▲In the fundraising organization crowdfunding sector, The House Concert and cultural and artistic organization Gaon will receive awards.
This event will feature a congratulatory performance by the Arts Gifted Trio composed of cellist Lee Jae-ri, pianist Lee Hyeong-dong, and violinist Lee Mi-hyun, along with an art charity auction program where attendees can invest in and donate to artworks simultaneously. Art collector Lee So-young will give a lecture on purchasing artworks for beginner collectors, and with the cooperation of Seoul Auction, 11 artworks will be auctioned for charity.
The auction will include works by the late Park Seo-bo, who recently passed away, as well as masterpieces by Korea’s representative masters such as Lee Ufan, Chun Kyung-ja, and Lee Bae, along with original works by rising stars in the Korean art scene like Kim Sun-woo, Kim Ji-hee, and Moon Hyeong-tae. The proceeds from the successful bids will be donated to support the growth of gifted artists through the Arts Tree movement.
Jeong Byeong-guk, chairman of the Arts Council Korea, said, "Establishing a social sponsorship system is essential to drive the independence and growth of the arts community," adding, "We want to express our gratitude and respect to those who participate in this social sponsorship through this event."
