Recovery Completed in 15 Minutes
Amid a series of recent government network outages, on the 29th, the internal accounting network used by public officials, called 'eHojo,' experienced a malfunction.
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, at around 1:30 PM that day, a failure occurred in the local financial management system 'eHojo,' which is the accounting network for public officials. When the network issue arose, the redundancy equipment was activated, and the malfunction was resolved within about 15 minutes, restoring normal operation. Currently, the system is functioning normally.
The malfunction was identified as being caused by an error in the storage device within the intrusion prevention system (IPS), a security device of eHojo. A Ministry of the Interior and Safety official stated, "eHojo is currently operating well without any major problems."
The local financial management system is managed by the Korea Local Information Development Institute, which is affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
