An unclaimed pension refers to accounts past the maturity date with a balance under 1.2 million KRW or accounts that meet pension receipt requirements but have not received the pension. A long-term inactive trust refers to accounts with no deposit or withdrawal transactions for more than five years from the trust maturity date or the last transaction date.

Customers holding unclaimed pensions or long-term inactive trusts can visit the nearest BNK Gyeongnam Bank branch with their ID to inquire and close their accounts.

Accounts with no deposit or withdrawal transactions for one year and a balance of 500,000 KRW or less can be closed through the Account Integration Management Service website.

Lee Jeong-hoon, head of the Trust Business Division, stated, “BNK Gyeongnam Bank conducts the campaign to find unclaimed pensions and long-term inactive trusts annually to help customers reclaim their rights. This year, accounts of retirement pension subscribers from businesses confirmed to have closed are also included. To promote the campaign, we plan to provide telephone guidance and postal notifications.”

Meanwhile, the status of long-term inactive trusts can be checked through the BNK Gyeongnam Bank website or the Account Integration Management Service website.

Separately from unclaimed pensions and long-term inactive trusts, BNK Gyeongnam Bank also helps find unclaimed reserves of retirement pension subscribers from businesses confirmed to have closed.
