Now in its 4th year, the academic award was established in 2020 to reaffirm women's studies and to progressively continue its history. Recipients are selected from scholars who have contributed to the expansion of knowledge about Korean society and women based on feminist theory and methodology across various academic disciplines. This year, as in the previous year, awards were given in both the academic and general categories.

In the academic category, the award went to Kim Bohwa, director of the Gender Violence Research Institute, for her work Sexual Violence Going to the Market. The book provides an in-depth analysis of how sexual violence cases are judicialized and commodified within domestic and international neoliberal social orders. In the general category, the award was given to Kim Youngok, executive director of the Life Culture Research Institute's Okhee Salon, for her book White Hair Flying, Feminism After Sixty. This book demonstrates that understanding the unique values of the lives of oneself and other women through an intersectional feminist perspective is the beginning of care for others.

An Ewha Womans University official stated, "Book concerts for the award-winning works will be held around March next year," adding, "We will continue to strive to expand knowledge about Korean society and women through various academic research projects."
