"'What's the Use of Losing Stylishly' to Lee Jae-myung... Principle and Common Sense Say 'No Regression in Election System'"

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, hinted at a return to the parallel proportional representation system by saying, "What use is it to lose stylishly?" In response, the group of anti-Lee Jae-myung (Bi-Myung) faction lawmakers called "Principles and Common Sense" raised their voices, stating, "We must not regress on the election system."

On the 29th, Principles and Common Sense stated through social media (SNS), "This is a resolution that all Democratic Party lawmakers promised before the presidential election. Have you already forgotten it all?"

The day before, Lee said on a YouTube live broadcast, "Elections are about winning, so what use is it to make idealistic claims stylishly?" hinting at a return to the parallel proportional representation system. The Bi-Myung faction calls the return to the parallel proportional representation system a 'regression' and urges maintaining the current mixed-member proportional representation system and enacting laws to prevent satellite parties.

In response, Principles and Common Sense raised their voices, saying, "What on earth is the Democratic Party doing? Changing words, breaking promises, and now openly planning to go backward? What have we done during that long 1 year and 9 months?"

They said, "The vested interests have not been relinquished. Politics has not changed. It's not that we couldn't do it, but we didn't do it. Just to protect vested interests, just to wear the National Assembly badge one more time, using any means and methods to try to defeat the People Power Party, is it enough to just ignore resolutions and promises?" and asked, "To the 168 Democratic Party lawmakers, we ask, are we really okay with this as it is?"
