On the 27th, Pukyong National University, Corens EM, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information, and Team Reboot jointly held the 'Southeast Region Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics Technology Status Exchange Meeting' at the Park Hyatt Busan Hotel.
The exchange meeting was attended by academic figures such as Professors Kim Seong-woong and Choi Seong-jun from Korea University, Professor Oh Tae-hyun from Pohang University of Science and Technology, and Professor Lee In-ho from Pusan National University, as well as AI industry leaders from representative companies including Upstage and Genesis Lab, and corporate representatives from Hyundai Motor Company and Hanwha Ocean.
The meeting aimed to deeply discuss the latest trends in generative AI research and the current status of robotics technology, featuring presentations and discussions on related research and technologies.
The event began with a lecture by Professor Kim Seong-woong of Korea University titled “Multi-Modal Generative Modeling for Artificial General Intelligence.”
The lecture covered topics such as multimodal generative trends, language-based robotics, interactive expert AI, and the latest robotics technology status, sharing new knowledge and insights with attendees and facilitating networking activities among participants.

Following the recent signing of an MOU for generative AI-based manufacturing innovation, Pukyong National University, Corens EM, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information, and Team Reboot hosted this event to promote the integration of manufacturing innovation and AI technology in the Busan region, which is expected to significantly contribute to the region’s industrial development and competitiveness enhancement.
To support this, Pukyong National University’s Digital Twin and Metaverse XR Technology Research Institute, along with the LINC 3.0 Project Group, ICT Core Talent Development Project Group, and BK21 Project Group from Pukyong National University and Pusan National University, also supported the event.
Woo Chun-geun, Executive Director of Corens EM, stated, “This exchange meeting is expected to serve as a representative example of the knowledge-industry-academia platform that Busan pursues through cooperation among local companies, universities, and research institutes, and will be an important stepping stone for discovering collaborative projects and joint business initiatives in Busan’s AI industry sector.”
