Fingerbus, a subsidiary of FSN listed on KOSDAQ, announced on the 29th that it has acquired Hyphen Corporation's easy laundry payment service and will apply the related service to the point tech platform 'MetaClub' starting from the 29th.
The easy laundry payment service was launched by Hyphen Corporation, which has established the leading corporate banking business area in Korea, in collaboration with Unilux, a commercial laundry equipment specialist. It is leading the easy payment business for public laundry facilities and self-service laundromats nationwide. Payments can be easily made by scanning a QR code without coins or cards, and various charging methods such as bank transfer and credit card are applied, overcoming the drawbacks of existing laundry services that were inconvenient to use without cash.
Through the acquisition of Hyphen Corporation's easy laundry payment service, Fingerbus expects not only diversification of MetaClub's payment system but also the influx of numerous new users. Since it is leading the easy payment business for public laundry facilities and self-service laundromats nationwide, it can recruit more than 100,000 new users annually, especially university students who are the main users, as new customers.
As a result, the number of MetaClub users will increase from the existing 80,000 to over 170,000, and the monthly transaction amount is expected to expand from 2 billion KRW to around 3 billion KRW. It is also predicted that the proportion of users aged 15 to 24 will expand to 60%. The value of MetaClub as a Gen Z point app tech platform is expected to be further enhanced.
MetaClub plans to continuously secure partners suitable for the lifestyle patterns of the significantly increasing main users of public laundry facilities and university students, and to expand the payment system. Additionally, gamification elements will be added within the app, and various offline services and benefits will be discovered to become a platform even closer to users' daily lives.
Choi Bok-gyu, CEO of Fingerbus, said, “MetaClub surpassed a cumulative transaction amount of 20 billion KRW within six months of launching the service and has grown into a service used by 170,000 people within 11 months. Through this business acquisition, more diverse charging, conversion, and accumulation services will be provided, and with over 100,000 new users annually, it will continue to develop as the next-generation point tech platform.”
