On the 28th at 3 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, Seoul, attended the opening ceremony of the second branch of the disability-friendly hair salon ‘Hair Cafe The Hue’ held at 492-1, Gongneung-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul.
‘Hair Cafe The Hue’ is a disability-friendly hair salon first introduced nationwide by the district last September to assist people with disabilities who find it difficult to use regular hair salons. Due to its explosive popularity, reservations became difficult, and the first branch located in Sanggye-dong was inconveniently far for residents of the Gongneung and Wolgye areas.
Accordingly, the district established the second branch in Gongneung-dong, conducted a two-week pilot operation starting from the 15th, and held the opening ceremony on this day. Full operations will begin on the 30th.
The event was attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok, Kim Joon-sung, Chairman of the Nowon District Council, leaders of disability organizations, and facility heads. The program included a progress report, presentation of appreciation plaques, congratulatory speeches, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a tour.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok stated, “Thanks to the support for the disability-friendly hair salon, we were able to open the second branch in Gongneung-dong. We will continue to do our best so that people with and without disabilities can enjoy the same daily life in Nowon, a disability-friendly city.”
