Professor Kim Il-ok of Samyuk University College of Nursing Receives Commendation from Minister of Health and Welfare

Professor Kim Il-ok of the College of Nursing at Samyook University received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare at the "100th Anniversary Conference of the Korean Nurses Association" held on the 23rd at the Jangchung Gymnasium Main Stadium in Jung-gu, Seoul. This was in recognition of her contributions to improving public health through dedicated volunteer spirit in carrying out health and medical projects.

As a professor at the College of Nursing at Samyook University, Professor Kim has devoted herself to education and research for the past 27 years, nurturing excellent nursing personnel and contributing to academic development. She served as the deputy head of the Health Science Specialization Project Group at Samyook University and developed and operated a specialized education program for addiction experts through the CK-II (Capital Region University Specialization Project) support competition.


As an executive of the Korean Nurses Association, she actively participated in nursing policy development. In particular, as the chairperson of the association’s Public Relations Committee, she was actively involved in promoting the enactment of the Nursing Act through publicity, gathering public opinion, writing articles, and related research. She also played a key role in the project to discover "74 Independent Movement Nurse Activists."


She has been actively engaged in social contribution activities as well. As an expert in addiction prevention and rehabilitation education, Professor Kim served as a policy advisory committee member and director of the Korea Drug Prevention Movement Headquarters, as well as deputy director of the affiliated Drug Prevention Research Institute. She developed guidelines for addiction rehabilitation practice, created educational curricula, and operated practical training programs. Through policy advice, research, and writing activities, she has raised awareness of the harms caused by the misuse and abuse of illegal drugs.
