The initial report of suspected drunk driving involving Mr. A came from near the Olympic-daero in Seoul. A citizen reported to the police after seeing Mr. A’s vehicle continuing to drive with damaged tires following a collision with road facilities, suspecting drunk driving. It is reported that Mr. A drove approximately 20 km from Gangnam-gu to Jungnang-gu.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s 112 Comprehensive Security Situation Room tracked the expected route of Mr. A’s rapidly moving vehicle and requested cooperation from various police stations. While searching the nearby area with the cooperation, officers spotted Mr. A’s vehicle and pursued it, but Mr. A ignored them and fled to the underground parking lot of an apartment complex.

After parking his vehicle in the parking lot, Mr. A acted as if nothing had happened and got out of the car. However, he was eventually caught by the police, and at the time of arrest, his blood alcohol concentration was revealed to be 0.12%, well above the license cancellation threshold of 0.08%. At the time of capture, the rear tires of Mr. A’s vehicle were torn apart in various places, leaving only the wheels. Fortunately, there were no casualties during the drunk driving incident.

Meanwhile, the police filed charges against Mr. A for drunk driving and sent the case to the prosecution.
