Operation Resumes After 2 Years and 9 Months Since Fire Incident
Hotel Tirol, the symbol of Booyoung Group's Muju Deogyusan Resort, held its opening ceremony after 2 years and 9 months and has officially started operations.
The Hotel Tirol opening ceremony, held at 11 a.m. on the 27th, was attended by Booyoung Group Chairman Lee Hee-beom, Muju Deogyusan Resort CEO Bae Seong-su, Muju County Governor Hwang In-hong, and Muju County Council Chairman Lee Hae-yang.
At the event, Chairman Lee Hee-beom said, "I hope the hotel will serve customers with love, just like Deogyusan, a mountain known for its virtue and generosity."
CEO Bae Seong-su stated, "We will prioritize the safety of the reopened Hotel Tirol and the ski resort, which will open soon, and do our best to ensure customers can use the facilities with peace of mind."
Hotel Tirol had its operations suspended after an unexplained fire broke out on the roof on the night of February 20, 2021, damaging some guest rooms and food and beverage facilities. During the long closure period of 33 months, extensive remodeling was carried out with the principle of restoring the original condition, leading to today's reopening.
A Booyoung Group official said, "The traces of the fire have been completely erased, and we introduced a safe and modernized system in accordance with newly applied building and fire safety regulations. We also paid close attention to the vulnerable by installing tactile walkways for the visually impaired and lowering the steps at the lobby entrance to facilitate wheelchair access."
He added, "We also focused on restoring the exterior, striving to recreate the appearance from when it first opened in 1997 through architectural blueprints and thorough photographic verification."
Meanwhile, Booyoung Group's Muju Deogyusan Resort has received positive reviews from customers after fully remodeling the family hotel rooms.
