A worker fell to their death while working at a construction site in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
At around 2:30 PM on the 27th, a worker in his 50s, Mr. A, fell 10 meters while working at a youth housing construction site in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. Mr. A was transported to the hospital but passed away.
According to the Seocho Police Station, Mr. A was working on organizing protruding rebar after pouring concrete on a formwork panel (a temporary board laid down at construction sites for workers to walk on) when the accident occurred.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident based on witness statements, including that "the formwork panel fell and he fell along with it."
The Ministry of Employment and Labor plans to investigate whether the company violated the Industrial Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.
