Wang Yi, member of the Central Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will visit the United States on the 29th to discuss the Israel-Palestine issue at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
Wang Wenbin, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a regular briefing on the 27th, "As the rotating president of the UNSC in November, China will hold a high-level meeting on the Israel-Palestine issue, chaired by Minister Wang."
He added, "Through the UNSC high-level meeting on the Israel-Palestine issue, China hopes to promote deep exchanges and consensus among all parties, alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, and realize a ceasefire and protection of civilians."
China has emphasized the 'Two-State Solution' supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state as the resolution to the Israel-Palestine issue.
Earlier, President Xi Jinping stated at the BRICS special summit held via video conference on the 21st, "The root cause of the conflict between Israel and Palestine is that the rights of the Palestinians have long been neglected and ignored," proposing the 'Two-State Solution' and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state as the solution.
