This is the strength that allowed Yoo Hae-ran to be crowned Rookie of the Year in the United States following her success in Korea. She participated in 25 events on the 2023 U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, achieving six top-10 finishes including one victory, and secured first place in the Rookie of the Year points standings with 907 points. She won by a margin of 282 points over second-place Grace Kim (Australia, 624 points). This marks the first time in four years since Lee Jeong-eun 6 in 2019 that a Korean player has won the rookie title. Yoo is the 14th Korean player to do so.
Yoo Hae-ran's iron shots were outstanding. Her greens in regulation rate reached 75.36%, ranking fourth among LPGA Tour players. Yoo uses two types of irons: the TaylorMade P790 iron (#4) and the P7MC irons (#5?PW). The P790 is designed to look beautiful while enabling the ball to travel farther and straighter. It is made to easily send the ball when a long distance remains.
The P7MC irons were also in Yoo Hae-ran’s bag when she topped the LPGA Tour Qualifying Tournament last December. These irons were developed based on feedback from tour players. They are meticulously and precisely crafted muscle cavity irons of the highest quality. Using ultra-high-density forging technology, they provide a firm yet perfect hitting feel. The classic design, minimized offset, and improved center of gravity deliver perfect control, accuracy, and forgiveness. Yoo described them as "having a stylish appearance and excellent shot control. They are a grateful weapon that has created many birdie opportunities."
