Hanmi Pharm Selected as No.1 in Sustainability Index Pharmaceutical Sector for 4 Consecutive Years

Hanmi Pharm announced on the 27th that it was selected as the No. 1 company in the pharmaceutical sector of the Sustainability Index (KSI) for the fourth consecutive year at the '2023 Korea Sustainability Conference' hosted by the Korea Standards Association, held on the 24th at Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.

KSI is an index that evaluates the sustainability of domestic companies based on the international standard for corporate social responsibility, 'ISO26000,' established by the Korea Standards Association since 2009. KSI conducts evaluations on 214 companies and institutions across 50 industries, selected through the deliberation of a committee composed of more than 26,000 stakeholders, including employees, partner companies, consumers, investors, and local community residents, as well as 856 experts.

At this conference, Hanmi Pharm received the highest KSI score in the pharmaceutical industry, 54.34 points, after evaluating seven core themes?organizational governance, human rights, labor, environment, fair operation, consumer issues, and community participation and development?and 40 sub-items. This score exceeds the pharmaceutical industry average of 50.33 points. Hanmi Pharm earned high marks in areas such as research and development (R&D) investment, carbon management, human rights due diligence, and CP rating. In particular, Hanmi Pharm explained that it was recognized for its continuous efforts, including investing 15-20% of its annual sales revenue in R&D for new drug development every year.

Additionally, Hanmi Pharm practices sustainable management through initiatives such as ▲establishing the pharmaceutical industry's first environment and occupational health and safety oversight organization, the 'hEHS Committee,' ▲conducting human rights due diligence across all business sites, ▲maintaining the Fair Trade Commission CP rating 'AAA' for five consecutive years as the first domestic company, ▲certifications for environmental and occupational health and safety management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001), and ▲certification for business continuity management system (ISO 22301).
