The prosecution has demanded a 7-year prison sentence for former Deputy Chief of the Court Administration Office, Lim Jong-heon, who was tried on charges related to the so-called 'judicial scandal.' This comes five years after Lim was indicted.

At the sentencing hearing held on the 27th at the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 36-1 (Presiding Judges Kim Hyun-soon, Jo Seung-woo, Bang Yoon-seop), the prosecution requested the court to sentence Lim to 7 years in prison on charges including abuse of authority and obstruction of the exercise of rights.
The prosecution argued that this case "devastatingly destroyed the trust in the judiciary" and called Lim "the key person responsible for the abuse of judicial administrative power."
Lim was arrested and indicted in November 2018 on over 30 criminal charges, including allegations of 'trial trading' related to forced labor lawsuits against Japan and lawsuits involving the Korean Teachers and Education Workers Union (Jeon Gyo Jo) during the tenure of Chief Justice Yang Sung-tae.
