The Only Military Officer Awarded a Commendation: Park Hyun-mi Jumu-gwan
Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 27th that it received the Governor's Commendation at the ‘2023 Gyeongsangnam-do City and County Civil Service Excellence Award Ceremony’ held at the Gyeongnam Provincial Government Office in celebration of Civil Petitioners' Day.
The ‘Gyeongsangnam-do City and County Civil Service Excellence Award Ceremony’ was established to encourage hardworking public officials and create an administrative environment trusted by residents by discovering and rewarding outstanding individuals in civil service work across cities and counties.
Notably, at this year’s award ceremony, Park Hyun-mi, a civil servant (Open Civil Service Division, Administrative Grade 7), was the only recipient from the county level to receive the Governor's Commendation.

Park was recognized for her contributions including ▲providing user-centered civil service convenience ▲improving the civil service office environment by expanding convenience facilities for socially disadvantaged groups ▲implementing healing programs for civil service staff ▲ensuring protection and a safe working environment for civil service personnel, earning her the Governor's Commendation.
Additionally, Bae Kyung-ok, a civil servant (Open Civil Service Division, Administrative Grade 8), represented Goseong-gun at the ‘2023 Gyeongsangnam-do Friendly Public Officials Competition,’ held to spread a friendly atmosphere throughout the public service community in Gyeongnam Province.
Among a total of 13 teams participating in the competition, Bae presented a friendly service approach titled ‘Understanding the Heart of Civil Petitioners,’ reconstructing cases she personally experienced to emphasize attentive listening and empathy.
In particular, to promote the Goseong Songhak-dong Tumuli, which was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site on September 24, Bae delivered her presentation dressed as a Sogaya queen. Her excellent expressive skills and visually engaging presentation materials received high praise from the audience, and the enthusiastic support from staff of 14 towns and townships created a lively atmosphere at the venue.
Lee Sang-geun, the county governor, said, “I knew that Goseong-gun’s civil service level was high, but I am truly delighted to achieve this remarkable honor in civil service excellence. We will continue to improve Goseong-gun’s civil service to increase residents’ satisfaction without stopping.”
