On the 27th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the '2023 Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Specialized Field Support Project Achievement Exhibition' on the first floor gallery of Buk-gu Office until the 8th of next month.

Gwangju Buk-gu, SME Specialized Field Support Project Performance Exhibition

The SME Specialized Field Support Project is a program by Buk-gu that focuses on supporting five specialized fields with high policy demand from SME stakeholders in the region: ▲design development ▲prototype production ▲intellectual property rights acquisition ▲funding for prospective entrepreneurs ▲work environment improvement. This year, about 500 million KRW was invested to support 50 companies.

Accordingly, Buk-gu prepared this exhibition to showcase the achievements created by beneficiary companies through customized support in each specialized field this year, aiming to boost the pride of SME owners and widely promote local companies to residents to support the sales channels of excellent products.

The exhibition introduces to residents 'successful cases of design development' such as CI, BI, and packaging, 'prototype production achievements based on excellent technology,' and 'cases of strengthening SME intellectual property protection' including patent application, production, and promotion.

Additionally, 'startup support achievements' from prospective entrepreneurs who need performance sharing and dissemination, as well as 'excellent cases of work environment safety maintenance' for workers, are also prepared.

Furthermore, Buk-gu plans to hold a performance report meeting on the 6th at the Gwangju Design Promotion Agency, attended by about 30 people including beneficiary companies and related SME organizations, where awards for meritorious persons and discussions on corporate difficulties and suggestions will be conducted to reflect in next year’s SME support projects.

A Buk-gu official said, "We hope this exhibition will serve as a place for information sharing among SME stakeholders who have worked hard throughout the year and act as a catalyst for the recovery of the local economy," adding, "We will continue to strive to discover support measures that SMEs, the backbone of the local economy, can truly feel."
