Daedong Hospital and Dongnae-gu Sign Business Agreement for 'Child Protection ZONE'

Daedong Hospital held a signing ceremony for the ‘Child Protection ZONE Dongnae’ agreement for joint response to child abuse SOS at Dongnae District Office on the 22nd.


The agreement involves Daedong Hospital, Dongnae District, Gwanghye Hospital, Dongnae Bongsaeng Hospital, and Busan Eastern Child Protection Agency, aiming to respond to child abuse and protect abused (or suspected) children to create an environment where they can grow up healthy and safe.


According to the agreement, the institutions will cooperate in ▲sharing information on abused (or suspected) children, counseling, physical and mental treatment ▲rapid medical care for abused children, medical consultation ▲awareness-raising activities for child abuse prevention ▲establishing a collaborative system for 24-hour rapid response to child abuse.

Daedong Hospital and Dongnae-gu Sign Business Agreement for 'Child Protection ZONE' Representatives from Daedong Hospital, Dongnae-gu, Gwanghye Hospital, Dongnae Bongsaeng Hospital, and Busan Eastern Child Protection Agency are taking a commemorative photo after signing the agreement.

Jang Jun-yong, head of Dongnae District Office, said, “I hope that related organizations in Dongnae District can join forces to care for the wounds and pain of children,” adding, “We will continue to work harder to make Dongnae a child-friendly place where children, who are our future, can grow up bright and healthy.”


Daedong Hospital was designated as a dedicated medical institution for child abuse by Busan City in 2021 and has established a collaborative medical system with four pediatric specialists as well as departments of psychiatry, surgery, neurology, orthopedics, and emergency medicine. It also operates a pediatric emergency care zone within the regional emergency medical center to provide integrated medical services for abused children.


Hospital Director Lee Kwang-jae said, “Having been responsible for the health of Dongnae residents for 78 years, we will do our best as a medical institution to create an environment where children can grow up healthy.”
