People Power Party 35.5%, Democratic Party 47.1%
President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating for his administration rose for the second consecutive week, reaching the high 30% range. In party support, the Democratic Party of Korea saw an increase, while the People Power Party's support declined.
According to a regular public opinion poll released on the 27th by Realmeter (conducted at the request of Energy Economy Newspaper from the 20th to the 24th over five days, targeting 2,505 adults aged 18 and over nationwide using an ARS automated response method), President Yoon's approval rating rose by 2.5 percentage points from the previous survey to 38.1%. Negative evaluations fell by 2.9 percentage points to 58.9%. President Yoon's approval rating increased from 34.7% in the second week of November to 35.6% in the third week and 38.1% in the fourth week.
By region, President Yoon's approval rating rose significantly in Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheong (up 7.5 percentage points, from 34.8% to 42.3%) and Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (up 7.2 percentage points, from 40.1% to 47.3%). However, when viewed daily, the approval rating peaked at 40.9% midweek (22nd) but declined to 35.5% by the end of the week (24th).
In party support (conducted at the request of Energy Economy Newspaper from the 23rd to 24th, targeting 1,001 adults aged 18 and over nationwide using an ARS automated response method), the People Power Party's support dropped by 1.6% to 35.5%. The Democratic Party's support rose by 2.5 percentage points from the previous survey to 47.1%. As a result, the gap between the two major parties widened from 7.5 percentage points last week to 11.6 percentage points this week, with the Democratic Party leading. The Justice Party stood at 3.0%, and the non-affiliated group at 10.4%.
The People Power Party showed declines in Incheon and Gyeonggi (down 5.5 percentage points, from 34.6% to 29.1%) and Seoul (down 4.3 percentage points, from 41.1% to 36.8%). The Democratic Party showed notable increases in Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheong (up 6.6 percentage points, from 42.4% to 49.0%) and Seoul (up 5.5 percentage points, from 39.4% to 44.9%). Support among women also rose by 3.9 percentage points (from 44.2% to 48.1%).
