Montenegro's Minister of Justice, who has the authority to decide on the extradition of Kwon Do-hyung, CEO of Terraform Labs and a key figure in the collapse of virtual assets 'Terra·Luna,' stated that "the United States is our most important foreign policy partner."

According to AFP and Bloomberg on the 25th (local time), Andrija Milovi?, Montenegro's Minister of Justice, made this remark regarding Kwon's extradition destination during an interview with local media on the 23rd.

Minister Milovi? emphasized, "We want to sign a mutual extradition treaty with (the United States) as soon as possible to establish a legal framework for future criminal extraditions."

Although he did not specify where Kwon would be sent, Bloomberg interpreted Minister Milovi?'s statement as a hint about his intentions.

Meanwhile, the Podgorica High Court of Montenegro announced on the 24th via its official website that, after reviewing the extradition requests from South Korea and the United States, the legal requirements for Kwon's extradition have been met.

Furthermore, the court stated that the Minister of Justice will decide which country Kwon will be extradited to after he completes a four-month prison sentence for passport forgery.

However, the court confirmed that among the extradition requests from South Korea and the United States, South Korea's request arrived at the Montenegro Ministry of Justice on March 29, earlier than the U.S. request.

Kwon was arrested in Montenegro for attempting to use a forged passport and was sentenced to four months in prison in both the first and second trials. Separately, the court ordered a six-month detention for Kwon and others for the purpose of criminal extradition.
