Geumcheon-gu Operates 'Strong Teeth Class' for Elementary School Children

SOOD Association Dental Hygienists Conduct School Visits for Theoretical Education and Proper Tooth Brushing Training

Geumcheon-gu Operates 'Strong Teeth Class' for Elementary School Children

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it is operating the 'Strong Teeth Classroom' for elementary school children.

In October, Geumcheon-gu signed a business agreement with the Korea SOOD Education Association (hereinafter SOOD Association) to prevent oral diseases and promote oral health for children in Geumcheon-gu. The SOOD Association is a clinical academic organization composed of dentists and dental hygienists. It conducts education and publicity on personal oral hygiene management with the goal of improving the oral health of the public.

Through this agreement, Geumcheon-gu and the SOOD Association are conducting the 'Strong Teeth Classroom' for about 900 fourth and fifth grade students at 11 elementary schools from October to December.

A dental hygienist from the SOOD Association visits schools to provide 'oral health theory education' tailored to the children's level and offers individual guidance on the 'correct tooth brushing method.' Additionally, toothbrushes and mirrors, educational supplies, were provided to the schools.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "I hope this education will help children recognize the importance of oral health and serve as an opportunity for them to form habits of managing their oral health on their own."
