Establishment of a Systematic Cooperation System for Vacant Houses and 12 Other Cases
The Damyang County Council in Jeollanam-do announced that on the 24th, during the 2nd plenary session of the 2nd regular meeting of the 325th session, five council members conducted 12 questions directed at the executive branch regarding county administration.
First, Councilor Jang Myeong-yeong mentioned the need for “Establishing and Utilizing a Systematic Cooperation System for Vacant Houses” through periodic surveys and database creation for systematic and efficient management of vacant houses, “Conflict Resolution Measures between Original Residents and Migrants” to facilitate smooth settlement of migrants by providing accurate information about vacant houses, and the “Necessity of a Dedicated Department for Vacant House Affairs” to respond to the increasing administrative demand related to vacant houses.
Councilor Jo Gwan-hoon inquired about the “Request for Securing Mobile Large Pumps to Prepare for Flood Damage Caused by Heavy Rain,” the “Plan to Manage Bus Stops in the County by Linking with Public Job Projects” to save budget and create local jobs, and the “Damyang County’s Position” regarding the expiration of the supply contract for agricultural water from Damyang Lake, currently used as industrial water by Hansol Papertech in Daejeon-myeon.
Councilor Choi Hyun-dong asked about the “Measures to Manage Personal Mobility Devices” that are recklessly abandoned on the streets and threaten citizens’ safety, and the “Snow Removal Measures for Blind Spots Including Rural Villages” in preparation for heavy snowfall in winter.
Councilor Lee Ki-beom continued with questions about “Our County’s Unique Civil Servant Personnel Policy Plan” to boost employees’ work motivation and create a public service culture that everyone can empathize with, and “Practical Welfare Policies That Can Economically Benefit Employees.”
Lastly, Councilor Park Eun-seo concluded the county administration questions by addressing the avoidance of widely used chlorine-based de-icing agents in winter snowfall and promoting the “Use of Eco-friendly De-icing Agents for Environmental Protection,” as well as the “Policies and Practical Operation Plans to Enhance the Performance and Effectiveness of the Carbon Neutral Point System” as envisioned by Damyang County.
Answers to the council members’ questions will be provided at the 3rd plenary session on December 4.
Vice Chairman Park Jun-yeop stated, “I hope this county administration questioning serves as an opportunity to convey the public’s concerns about overall county administration along with an evaluation of this year’s administration, and to seek directions for policy establishment and alternatives for county development.”
