Thyroid cancer ranks first among cancers occurring in Korea. According to the Central Cancer Registry, 11.8% of all cancers diagnosed in Korea in 2020 were thyroid cancer. It was found that the likelihood of occurrence in women was about three times higher than in men, and by age group, it occurred most frequently in the 40s, followed by the 50s and 30s.
