In Gumi-si, Gyeongbuk, a dump truck driving with its cargo bed raised collided with a bridge.

According to the Gumi Fire Station on the 23rd, at 4:53 PM that day, a report was received by 119 stating, "A cargo truck heading from Kumoh National Institute of Technology toward Ok-gye got stuck in a tunnel." The footage of the accident went viral after being posted on an online community. In the video, a dump truck driving on Sanho-daero with its cargo bed raised attempts to pass under a bridge but hits the underside. The impact lifts the front part of the truck's body, causing it to get stuck between the bridge and the road.

The driver, Mr. A, reportedly caused the accident after receiving vehicle maintenance earlier that day but failed to lock the cargo bed lever before driving.

Firefighters who responded to the report rescued Mr. A, who was almost hanging in midair, and used two large tow trucks to bring the vehicle down to the ground after two hours. The accident caused severe traffic congestion around the scene for a time.

Fortunately, there were no casualties, and Mr. A was reported to have sustained only minor injuries.

The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, which is believed to have been caused by the driver's negligence.

Meanwhile, on the 20th at noon, a trailer truck traveling on a local road in Jeomdong-myeon, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi, collided with a utility pole installed by the roadside.

The accident reportedly occurred when part of the trailer truck's cargo bed detached while passing through a curve. The vehicle hit the guardrail and overturned after colliding with the utility pole, but no casualties were reported.

However, the utility pole was damaged and fell, causing a power outage affecting dozens of households in the Seongsin-ri area of Jeomdong-myeon, Yeoju-si.
