Live Commerce at Direct Market from 12 PM on the 24th: Lively Market Introduction
Real-time Sales of Hoengseong Jangnoesam and More on YouTube Channel 'Seocho-gu Video Collection', with Gift Drawings
Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will conduct a 'live commerce' event on the 24th at the Seocho-gu Office Plaza during the Seocho Direct Transaction Market to support sales from sister cities.
'Live commerce' is a compound word combining live streaming, meaning real-time broadcasting, and e-commerce, referring to a service where sellers and buyers communicate in real time via smartphones or other devices to shop online.
The district planned the live commerce to ease consumers' shopping burdens in this high inflation era and to promote the consumption of excellent agricultural products for those who find it difficult to visit the market. A pilot live commerce broadcast selling Naju pears and grains was conducted on the 10th.
The 'live commerce' event, held for about an hour from 12 PM on the 24th, will introduce the vibrant scene of the Seocho Direct Transaction Market and sell products such as Jangnoesam and wild ginseng from the sister city Hoengseong-gun to residents online.
The show host Hong Ji-young will lead the event, which will be structured as follows: ▲ Introduction of the direct transaction market ▲ Market sketch ▲ Product introduction and farmer interviews ▲ Order and delivery guidance and Q&A.
Viewers can watch by entering the live tab on the YouTube channel ‘Seocho-gu Video Collection’. Visitors to the direct transaction market who click ‘Like’ and ‘Subscribe’ on the YouTube channel will be entered into a draw to receive gifts prepared by the farmers.
The district plans to analyze the operational effects and explore expansion plans such as increasing the number of products sold via live commerce next year.
Meanwhile, the ‘Seocho Direct Transaction Market’ resumed last August after being suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19 and is the only market among Seoul’s autonomous districts held twice a month (on the 2nd and 4th Thursday and Friday). A total of 24 participants including 21 sister cities, local agricultural cooperatives, and Maljukgeori shopping district are involved.
The operating hours are from 9:30 AM to 5 PM.
Jeon Seong-su, Mayor of Seocho-gu, said, “We will continue to seek various ways for residents to use the Seocho Direct Transaction Market to support farmers and revitalize the local economy.”
