Gangbuk-gu Recruiting 60 Students for '2024 Winter Vacation Part-Time Jobs'

Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) is recruiting participants for the '2024 Winter Vacation University Student Part-time Job' to assist with administrative tasks in Gangbuk-gu from November 30 to December 13.


The district provides part-time job opportunities twice a year during summer and winter vacations to university students residing in the area to help them gain a deeper understanding of public service and gain social experience.


The recruitment quota is a total of 60 students: 48 through general selection and 12 through special selection. Applicants must be enrolled or on leave from domestic or international universities and registered residents of Gangbuk-gu as of the application start date, November 30. However, the following are excluded from eligibility: ▲ students who have been expelled or are graduate students ▲ enrolled or on leave students of distance learning universities such as broadcasting and cyber universities ▲ students of in-company universities under the Lifelong Education Act ▲ students of lifelong education facilities such as computer institutes ▲ university students who have worked as Gangbuk-gu student part-time workers within the last two years (2022?2023).


Special selection is limited to ▲ recipients or children of recipients under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act ▲ single-parent families protected under the Single-Parent Family Support Act ▲ persons or children of persons eligible for support under the low-income (self-pay reduction, disabled, self-support, priority care) category ▲ North Korean defectors or their children ▲ registered persons with disabilities.


Selected students will work for 20 days from January 4 to 31, 2024, at various departments of Gangbuk-gu Office, health centers, and community service centers.


The daily wage is 57,300 KRW, which includes lunch expenses. Working conditions are five days a week, five hours per day (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a separate lunch break), but working hours may be adjusted through mutual agreement depending on the workplace situation.


Those wishing to participate can apply online on the Gangbuk-gu website (Citizen Participation → District Administration Participation → University Student Part-time Job Application) from November 30 until 6 p.m. on December 13.


The district plans to select winter vacation part-time workers by computerized lottery at 10 a.m. on December 15 at the District Office’s Autonomous Administration Division and announce the results at 5 p.m. on the Gangbuk-gu website’s news section.


Selected students must submit required documents such as the application form and personal information consent form to the Autonomous Administration Division (5th floor, Gangbuk-gu Office) or via email to the person in charge between December 18 and 21.

Also, I hope it will assist them in understanding the work done by public institutions and in planning their own career paths in the future.”
