Preparing for Galaxy A15, 25, 35, 55 Launch
3-4 Mid-Range Phones to Release Domestically in Early Next Year
Samsung Electronics is expected to launch its flagship Galaxy S24 series in January next year, drawing growing attention to the new mid-range Galaxy smartphones to be released. As the government is urging the expansion of mid-range devices to reduce household communication costs, various mid-range devices are expected to appear in the Korean market in the future.
Overseas IT media GSM Arena reported that several Swiss online retailers have revealed images, prices, sales dates, and specifications of the Galaxy A25 on their websites. The price is 279 francs (about 410,219 KRW), and sales will begin on the 7th of next month.
The application processor (AP), which acts as the brain of the smartphone, is equipped with the Exynos 1280, and it is expected to be released with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage or 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It is known to feature a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with FHD (Full-HD)+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, along with a 5000mAh battery. Samsung Electronics introduced the predecessor Galaxy A24 in the domestic market last May with a launch price of 396,000 KRW.
The Galaxy A35 is also in preparation. IT tipster OnLeaks revealed the Galaxy A35 renderings to overseas IT media MySmartPrice. It is reported to have a design similar to its predecessor but includes a rear camera with 20 million more pixels than the previous model, totaling a 50-megapixel camera. The predecessor Galaxy A34 was released domestically in March last year at 499,400 KRW.
The mid-range Galaxy A55 is also expected to be unveiled soon. The Galaxy A55 recently passed 3C certification in China. The model is known to be equipped with the Exynos 1480 as its AP, and the camera is said to be similar to the previous model. Overseas IT media MyFixGuide reported, "The 3C certification means Samsung has almost completed work on the Galaxy A55 and will release it soon." The predecessor Galaxy A54 was launched domestically last May as an SK Telecom exclusive device (Galaxy Quantum4) at 618,200 KRW.
Additionally, renderings of the Galaxy A15, priced in the 100,000 KRW range, have been leaked. The 4G model is believed to be equipped with the MediaTek Helio G99 AP, and the 5G model with MediaTek's Dimensity 6100+ AP. The renderings show a triple camera setup, reportedly including a 50-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel depth camera. The selling price is reported to be $149 (about 193,402 KRW).
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 8th a "Plan to Ease Communication Cost Burden," stating that in consultation with Samsung Electronics, two mid-range devices priced between 300,000 and 800,000 KRW will be released within this year, and 3 to 4 models in the first half of next year. The National Assembly also urged the expansion of the mid-range device lineup during last month's audit. Accordingly, Samsung Electronics launched the Galaxy Jump3 as a KT exclusive device on the 10th with a launch price of 438,900 KRW and is preparing the Galaxy S23 FE. Given the positive response from last year's domestic releases of the Galaxy A24, A34, and A54, it is highly likely that the Galaxy A25, A35, and A55 will also be released in Korea in the first half of next year.
